What it does
- A real grid — columns A–Z and 100 rows, with cell editing and a formula bar.
- A ~100-function formula engine — math, logic, text, lookup, date/time, statistics and financial functions, built from scratch for CellForge.
- Charts — bar, line and pie charts from a selected range, as a static snapshot you can refresh after editing.
- Excel in and out — import and export .xlsx files (first worksheet only), plus CellForge's own native save format.
- Everything runs on your computer. Your sheets are never uploaded anywhere; there are no accounts and no sync servers.
⚠️ Scope notes — read before you buy
- One sheet only in v1. Each file holds a single worksheet — no multi-sheet workbooks yet.
- No macros, cloud, or collaboration. CellForge is a solo, local-first spreadsheet: no macros, no shared editing, no external data connections.
- Charts are static snapshots. A chart captures the range when you make it; press Refresh after editing to update it — charts do not live-update.
- Excel import reads the first worksheet only — no charts, images, pivots or macros carried over, and styling beyond bold + General/Number/Currency/Percent/Date is not carried.
- The macOS installer is coming. It needs a Mac build, so v1 ships Windows and Linux only — the macOS download will appear here the moment it's published.
- Human GUI click-through is still pending. The app's hands-on flows have not yet had a full human play-through pass. The licensing, checkout and activation paths are covered by automated tests; the in-app experience is v1 and we will say so plainly until that pass is done.
If any of the above is a deal-breaker for you, v1 isn't for you yet — and we'd rather tell you now than after checkout.
Download
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and Linux (64-bit). macOS coming with a Mac build.
The macOS installer is being prepared and will appear here the moment it's published — your license key will work as soon as it's posted.
The installers are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper may show a warning on first launch — this is normal for a new publisher. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open; on Windows, choose "More info → Run anyway".
One license activates on up to 3 computers, with 30-day offline trust after activation. No accounts, no telemetry, no phone-home beyond the one activation call.
