🎬 ClipForge
📣 What this app will do for you
This app will take a 3-minute screen recording and turn it into an edited clip, trimmed and ready to share. It's your Screen recorder + editor — built for exactly that job.
Record your screen and/or webcam with microphone audio, pause and resume, mark an in/out segment, and export just that segment — all in your browser. Your recordings never leave this device: nothing is uploaded to CertSight or anywhere else.
$49 one-time.
ClipForge is a gated tool: sign in with an account that owns ClipForge to use the recorder below. The recorder section on this page is shown only to owners.
What you get
- Screen and/or webcam recording — record a screen, window, or tab, your webcam, or both at once, with microphone audio.
- Pause and resume — pause mid-recording and pick up where you left off, in the same clip.
- Real trimming — set in/out markers on a recording and export the marked segment. Export genuinely re-records the selection by playing it back and capturing that playback, so the exported file really is just the segment — not the full clip with a label on it.
- WebM and MP4 downloads where your browser supports them — the tool checks what your browser can actually record and labels the rest as unavailable (see the honest limits below).
- In-session library — your recordings for this session, with play, download, and delete. Close or refresh the page and they are gone — by design, because nothing is stored on a server.
⚠️ Honest limits — read before you record
- Screen capture is a desktop-browser feature. It works in current desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on macOS. Most mobile browsers do not offer screen capture at all, and iOS Safari does not support it — on those browsers the screen options will report themselves as unavailable rather than silently failing.
- MP4 and WebM export depend on what your browser reports — not on its name. Do not assume a format from the browser brand: Safari does support MP4 recording, and newer browser releases add further WebM and MP4 capabilities, so support varies by browser and version. The tool never guesses from the browser name — it probes
MediaRecorder.isTypeSupportedin your browser (trying MP4 first, then WebM) and only offers formats your browser reports as supported, disabling the rest. The recorder section below shows your own browser's result. A file labelled MP4 is a real MP4 recording, not a WebM file renamed, and a file labelled WebM is a real WebM recording. - Trimming is a re-record, not a cut. Exporting a segment plays it back in real time and captures that playback, so exporting a 2-minute segment takes about 2 minutes, and the picture is re-encoded — quality may differ slightly from the original. There is no instant, lossless cut, and the tool does not pretend otherwise.
- Recordings live only in this browser tab. They are kept in memory for this session and are not saved to your CertSight account, your disk, or any server. Download a clip before closing the page or it is lost. Very long recordings use more memory; for long sessions, record in shorter clips.
- Your browser's capture dialog controls what is shared. When you pick a screen, window, or tab, your browser asks you — ClipForge cannot see anything you do not pick, and it cannot record DRM-protected or browser-blocked content.
- Audio needs microphone permission. If you decline mic access, recording continues without mic audio (screen audio, where your browser offers it, is separate — see the recorder's status line).
