🎨 HueDrop

📣 What this app will do for you

This app will let you pick any color on your screen with a magnifier, copy it as HEX, RGB, or NSColor code, and keep your last 50 colors in a palette history. Heads up: the Mac build is in progress — there is no download or purchase yet, and sampling other apps' windows needs Screen Recording permission.

Point at any color on your screen. Copy it as HEX, RGB, or NSColor code.

Coming soon — Mac build in progress. HueDrop is not available to buy or download yet. The Mac app is being built now; this page will offer the download the moment a tested build exists.

$29 planned one-time price. No subscription. No purchase yet — the price is shown so you know what it will cost when it launches.

What's planned: the full HueDrop app for macOS (Apple Silicon) · one license covers 3 computers (free a slot anytime by deactivating a computer in the app) · your license key is emailed at checkout and can also be shown on screen right after payment.

What it does

  • System-wide eyedropper — pick a color anywhere on screen, not just inside one app, with a magnifier following your cursor so you land on the exact pixel.
  • Three formats, one click — the picked color is shown as HEX, RGB, and NSColor code, and the HEX value is copied to the pasteboard automatically.
  • Palette history — your last 50 picked colors, newest first, kept in the popover for reuse.
  • Esc cancels — start a pick, change your mind, press Esc, nothing is copied.

⚠️ Scope notes — read before launch

  • One display at a time — the picker works on the display with the mouse; move the mouse to another display to pick there.
  • Sampling other apps' windows needs Screen Recording permission. Without it, samples come back empty — HueDrop does not pretend black is your color.
  • History holds 50 colors. No palette export, no named palettes, no contrast checker in v1.
  • Apple Silicon only (M1 or later). There is no Intel Mac build planned for v1.

If any of the above is a deal-breaker for you, v1 isn't for you yet — and we'd rather tell you now than after checkout.

Download

macOS (Apple Silicon, M1 or later) when it launches.

No download is available yet. The macOS download will appear here the moment a tested build is published — there is no installer link today, and this page will not pretend otherwise.

When the installer ships, it will be unsigned at first, so macOS Gatekeeper may show a warning on first launch — this is normal for a new publisher. Right-click the app and choose Open.
