🖊️ InkForge

📣 What this app will do for you

This app will give you a handwriting notes app that stays on your computer — a library of as many notes as you like, each with as many pages as you like, written in ink with pen, stylus, or mouse, with tags on every note and a sidebar search over note titles and tags, plus PNG/PDF export of the current page. Heads up: there is NO handwriting recognition (the ink itself is not searchable — search covers titles and tags only), export is per page with no whole-note export, there is no undo/redo and no typed text, shapes, or lasso, pressure is recorded but strokes render at fixed width, and there is no sync. Backed by a 7-day money-back guarantee.

Handwriting notes as ink — a library of notes with pages, tags, and search, all on your own computer. Write with a pen, stylus, or mouse; nothing is uploaded anywhere.

What it does

  • A library of notes. Create, rename, and delete as many notes as you like — the sidebar lists every note with its page count, stroke count, and tags. All of them are stored together in one library file in the app's data folder on your computer. There is no database in the cloud and no account for your notes.
  • Pages inside every note. Each note holds as many pages as you like: add a page, delete a page, and move with the forward/back page navigation ("Page 2 of 5"). Notes written in the earlier single-note version open intact as the first note of the library.
  • Pen, stylus, and mouse ink. Draw on the page with your choice of ink colour and pen width. Pen pressure is recorded with every stroke point, and the eraser removes a whole stroke at a time.
  • Tags on every note. Type a tag and press Enter to add it; tags show as chips on the note and can be removed with one click.
  • Search titles and tags. The sidebar search box matches note titles and tags as you type, narrowing the library instantly — click a result to open that note.
  • Export the current page as PNG or PDF. Switch to the page you want, then export just that page as a PNG image or a PDF.
  • Deactivate from inside the app. A "Deactivate on this computer" button frees that computer's activation slot when you replace a machine — no support ticket, no waiting.
  • Everything stays on your computer. The only network connections the app ever makes are the activation / deactivation checks to CertSight. Your notes are never uploaded anywhere, and there is no telemetry.

⚠️ Scope notes — read before you buy

  • There is no handwriting recognition. Ink is stored as strokes, and the ink itself is not searchable — search covers note titles and tags only. If you need to find a note later, give it a clear title or a tag.
  • Export is per page. PNG and PDF export save the current page only — there is no whole-note or whole-library export.
  • There is no undo or redo. The eraser removes a whole stroke at a time, and that removal is final once saved.
  • Ink only: no typed text, shapes, or lasso. There is no text tool, no shape tools, and no way to select and move part of a page after drawing it.
  • Pressure is recorded but strokes render at fixed width — the pen width you pick. Pressing harder does not make the line thicker in this version.
  • The page is a fixed size (1000 × 600) with no zoom and no ruled or grid page styles.
  • There is no autosave. Pressing Save writes the library; if you close the window without saving, the changes aren't written.
  • No sync, no collaboration, no AI in v1. Notes live only on the computer where you write them; back the library file up yourself.
  • Windows only for now. The download below is a Windows portable build. There is no macOS or Linux build yet — we'd rather say that plainly than promise one. Your license will work on those builds if and when they're published.
  • Human GUI click-through is still pending. Checkout, licensing, and activation are covered end to end by automated tests, but the app's hands-on flows have not yet had a full human play-through on a real Windows machine — the in-app experience is v1.1 and we will say so plainly until that pass is done.

If any of the above is a deal-breaker for you, v1.1 isn't for you yet — and we'd rather tell you now than after checkout.

Download

Windows 10/11 (64-bit), portable build — no installer, just download and run.

macOS and Linux are not available yet. There is no build for them today; if one is published later, this same license key will activate it.

The app is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may show a warning on first launch — this is normal for a new publisher. Choose "More info → Run anyway" to start it.

How activation works: at checkout your license key is emailed to you (and can be shown on screen right after payment). Enter it on the app's activation screen — one license activates on up to 3 computers, with 30-day offline trust after activation. Replacing a computer? Use "Deactivate on this computer" inside the app to free its slot, or generate a fresh key from your account page (the old key stops working).
