✂️ Resume Tailor

📣 What this app will do for you

This app will take fictional driver Marcus Bell's résumé + a Dispatch Supervisor job post (the same fictional demo shown on the ResumeTailor page) and turn it into the same bullets reordered so the strongest keyword matches come first, plus the job-post keywords missing from the résumé (dispatch, operations, freight…). It's your Resume tailored to the job post — built for exactly that job.

Changing jobs? Take one job posting and your current resume, and get a version tailored to that posting — your own experience, reordered so the strongest keyword matches come first. No rewriting your history, no invented credentials, no reworded bullets.

See it work on a fictional example first

This is a FICTIONAL example — Marcus Bell is not a real person, and this is not a real application. It shows the tool's real deterministic output for a fictional truck driver applying for a dispatch supervisor role. Switch tabs to see each input and output exactly as the tool produced it.

13 of 30 job-post keywords found in your resume (43% match). This is a word-level count only — not an employer's ATS score, not a qualification assessment, and not a hiring prediction.

Present: compliance (x2), delivery (x2), drivers (x2), route (x2), safety (x2), accurate (x1), coordinating (x1), customers (x1), daily (x1), delays (x1), dot (x1), driver (x1), experience (x1).

Missing: dispatch (x5), operations (x3), freight (x2), regional (x2), supervisor (x2), tracking (x2), assign (x1), calm (x1), communicating (x1), communication (x1), enforcing (x1), essential (x1), familiarity (x1), fleet (x1), hiring (x1), keep (x1), lead (x1) — only add one if it is actually true for you.

This is a word-level count, not a judgement and not an employer's ATS score: "dispatch" is missing even though Marcus planned routes with dispatchers daily, because his resume says "dispatchers" and the check counts whole words. A present word does not prove qualification, and a missing word does not prove you lack the skill.

What this demo does not show: the optional AI-enhanced rewrite (it needs a live AI call and an entitled account, and its output would need line-by-line checking anyway), and any employer outcome — no demo can promise one.

Before / after — what actually changed

Reordered: his third bullet — "Helped with training new drivers on safety procedures, DOT compliance rules, and delivery paperwork" — moved to the top, because it matched the most job keywords (safety, compliance, delivery, drivers). No fact changed; only the order did.

Not rephrased — deliberately: an earlier version of this tool rewrote lead-ins mechanically, and it turned "Responsible for completing long-haul delivery routes…" into the ungrammatical "Delivered completing long-haul delivery routes…". That rewriting has been removed: every bullet below is word-for-word as written, only reordered. If a lead-in reads weakly, you reword it yourself before sending — the tool will not guess a replacement verb for you, because a wrong verb can also change what you claim (for example, turning "In charge of onboarding paperwork" into "Led onboarding paperwork" would invent a management duty).

Keyword gap, stated plainly: the posting's top word is "dispatch" (×5) and it is missing — his resume says "dispatchers", and the check counts whole words. A truthful fix would be dispatch phrasing about work he actually did (he planned routes with dispatchers daily). What he must not do is claim he was a dispatcher or a supervisor — he never was, and the tool will not invent that for him.

What you get

  • Tailored resume draft — your own bullets reordered so the ones matching the job post most strongly come first, with bullet wording left exactly as you wrote it. Your facts are left untouched.
  • Cover letter — a template filled only with facts from the resume you pasted: your name, the role, and your own strongest bullets quoted back, with bracketed placeholders where information is missing. No keyword list inside the letter.
  • Keyword check (word-level count) — the job post's top 30 content words (stopwords removed), shown as present vs missing in your resume, with counts and a match percentage. That percentage is a word-level count only — not an employer's ATS score, not an ATS simulator, not a pass score, and not a hiring prediction.
  • Optional AI-enhanced rewrite — clearly labeled, only when you ask for it, with the deterministic version always kept alongside.
  • Copy and download — copy any output to the clipboard or download it as a .txt file.

⚠️ An honest note before you use it

This tool never invents employment history, skills, or credentials. If a fact is not in the resume you paste, it will not appear in any output. That is a feature, not a limitation: a tailored resume that invents experience will fail the moment an employer checks it. Bracketed lines in the cover letter are for you to fill in yourself — the tool will not guess your motivation for you.

Limits, stated plainly: the keyword check is single-word only, so a phrase like "machine learning" is checked as two separate words. A missing word may just mean you phrased a skill differently, and a present word does not prove you are qualified. Only add a missing keyword if it is actually true for you. The deterministic tailoring runs entirely in your browser; the optional AI rewrite is the only step that sends text to an AI provider, and only when you click it — it sends the draft you generated to CertSight's AI provider. The cover letter takes your name from the first line of your resume, so put your name first or fix the letter before sending.

Questions, answered from how the tool actually works

How do I buy it? Click Buy above — checkout is through Stripe — then return here or to your account page and open the tool. Price: $29 one-time.

I already bought it. Where is it? Log in and this page shows "Open the Resume Tailor tool". You can also open it from My Library on your account page.

Does it send my resume anywhere? The deterministic tailoring runs entirely in your browser and never sends your pasted text anywhere. The optional AI-enhance button is the only step that sends text anywhere — it sends the draft you generated to CertSight's AI provider — and only when you click it. You can use the tool fully without ever touching it.

What does the keyword check actually compute? It counts content words in the job post (stopwords removed, top 30 by frequency, ties broken A–Z), and reports how many of those exact whole words appear in your resume, with a match percentage. It is a word-level count only — not an employer's ATS score, not an ATS simulator, not a pass score, not a qualification assessment, and not a prediction about hiring.

A keyword is missing but I have that skill — why? Usually word forms: "dispatchers" is not "dispatch", "greeting" is not "greet", "managed" is not "management". Rephrase truthfully in the posting's words if the skill is real; do not add a keyword for something you have not done.

The tailored draft reads awkwardly. Why? The deterministic draft only reorders your bullets — it does not rewrite them — so any awkward wording is your own wording, kept verbatim. Edit that line yourself before sending; the tool will not substitute a verb for you, because a substituted verb can mangle grammar or change what you claim.

The cover letter has the wrong name. Why? The name comes from the first line of your resume. Put your name first in the resume you paste, or edit the letter before sending.

The AI button says unavailable. Is the tool broken? No — the deterministic results work fully without it. AI enhancement is optional and depends on the AI service being available at that moment.

Can I copy or download the outputs? Yes — Copy buttons and "Download as .txt" for both the tailored draft and the cover letter.

What happens when you submit: you see the checklist right away. If you ticked the box, we record only your email, the time you agreed, and which wording you agreed to, in CertSight's own database, and send the 3-email follow-up sequence described above. If you did not tick it, nothing is recorded. This does not buy anything, and it never subscribes existing customers to marketing.
