What ReturnRoute is — and is not
- It is a return-case organizer: cases, a missing-information checklist, your own policy on file, an evidence trail, a decision queue, and a customer status page.
- It does not invent your policy. If you have not typed a policy, the app has none to apply — staff decide each case by hand.
- It does not process refunds or payments, and it has no carrier integration in v1. A recorded approval is your staff's decision, not a refund issued.
- Photos are typed descriptions in v1. No image upload processing and no AI image analysis.
- Customers do not submit cases in v1. Staff enter cases; customers follow them on the status page with a reference number and order number.
- AI drafts are assistance, not verification. Every AI-assisted draft must be checked by staff before it is sent anywhere, and nothing in this tool sends a message to a customer.
- One workspace per buying account. No cross-account sharing in v1.
