What it does

• Inventory items — name, SKU, quantity, price, and low-stock threshold, with create, edit, and delete. SKUs are unique (case-insensitive).
• Sales recording — pick an item, enter a quantity, and the sale deducts stock immediately and is kept in a sales log (date, item, SKU, quantity, unit price, total). Overselling is refused.
• Low-stock alerts view — items at or below their threshold, boundary included.
• Totals — item count, inventory value, sales count, sales total, and low-stock count at a glance.
• Sample data, clearly labeled — "Load sample data" adds three items with a SAMPLE badge plus a banner; "Remove sample data" deletes them in one click. Sample data is never loaded automatically.
• Everything runs on your computer. Shop data lives in a local JSON file; nothing is uploaded anywhere; there are no accounts and no sync servers.

⚠️ Scope notes — read before you buy

• No backup, sync, or export of the local data file in v1. Keep your own copy if the data matters.
• No barcode scanning, multi-user access, tax handling, or receipt printing.
• No cloud sync, no collaboration, no accounts. ShopForge is single-player by design.
• The macOS installer is coming. It needs a Mac build, so v1 ships Windows and Linux only — the macOS download will appear here the moment it's published.
• Human GUI click-through is still pending. The app's hands-on flows have not yet had a full human play-through pass. The licensing, checkout and activation paths are covered by automated tests; the in-app experience is v1 and we will say so plainly until that pass is done.

The installers are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper may show a warning on first launch — this is normal for a new publisher. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open; on Windows, choose "More info → Run anyway".
