📖 Story Studio
The production studio for illustrated stories and audiobooks. Import a manuscript, and Story Studio helps you extract its facts into a Story Bible, approve the canon, plan every scene, attach artwork, check continuity across the whole book, and export a production package your illustrators and narrators can work from. It runs in your browser — hosted by us, nothing to install.
$24/month subscription. Cancel anytime — after you cancel, access continues until the end of the paid period.

How it works
- Import your manuscript. Paste it in, or upload a file: .txt, .md, .docx, a text-based .pdf, or .epub. Story Studio splits it into chapters and keeps every earlier revision, so a changed scene never silently rewrites your canon.
- Review the extracted facts. Characters, locations, objects, and events are pulled out as source assertions — each one cites the exact passage it came from. AI suggestions stay labeled as suggestions; nothing becomes canon until you approve it.
- Approve the canon. Approved story facts and your own design decisions (like an editor-chosen eye color) are kept distinct and labeled as what they are. Unknown stays unknown — Story Studio never invents a detail and calls it sourced.
- Plan scenes and artwork. Build the timeline and storyboard scene by scene, approve character and location references, and attach or generate the artwork each scene needs.
- Run continuity review. Contradictions, timeline problems, and details that change between chapters are flagged with the passages on both sides, so you can fix the story instead of discovering the problem after publication.
- Export the production package. Story Bible (PDF and Markdown), storyboard contact sheet (PDF), scene list (CSV), project JSON, the image-prompt list, and a narration script — plus a ZIP production package with a checksum manifest that can be re-imported into Story Studio later.
What's included
- The full sample project. "The Bell Rock Light" — a complete 20-scene story with recurring characters, a flashback, a time jump, a lost object, and a manuscript revision — is built in, so you can see exactly how the workflow handles a real book before you import yours.
- Hosted — nothing to install. Story Studio runs in your browser on any computer. Your projects live in your workspace on the hosted app.
- Package reimport. Export a production package and bring it back — imports are schema-validated and checksum-verified, and a package never carries anyone's credentials or membership into a new workspace.
- Cancel anytime. $24/month, no contract. Cancel from your account page; your workspace stays unlocked until the end of the paid period.
⚠️ Scope notes — read before you subscribe
- AI analysis is optional — and it is off at launch. The hosted instance ships without an AI key today, so the AI-assisted extraction and generation features are not live yet. The deterministic and manual workflow — import, Story Bible, canon approval, timeline, storyboard, continuity review, and every export — is complete without it, and that is what your subscription buys today.
- Imports need readable text. PDFs must be text-based (a scanned-image PDF has no text to extract), and DRM-protected EPUBs are refused rather than stripped.
- Your code unlocks one workspace. The purchase code you receive binds to a single Story Studio workspace; your subscription stays valid while it is active, and access runs to the end of the paid period if you cancel.
- Not a video tool. Story Studio produces illustrated-story and audiobook production packages — artwork, scripts, and exports. It does not make cinematic video.
