🎬 VideoForge
📣 What this app will do for you
This app will download video and audio from thousands of supported sites onto your own Windows computer — paste a link, see the qualities that actually exist, pick a preset (including audio-only), and download into a persistent queue with pause, resume, and crash recovery, plus playlist selection, a built-in browser with Find Videos, and subscriptions that fetch new items while the app is open. Heads up: Windows only today as an unsigned portable build (SmartScreen will warn), no macOS version yet, and DRM-protected or paywalled content cannot be downloaded — the app explains limits instead of bypassing them. Backed by a 7-day money-back guarantee.

How it works
- Paste a link. One link or several at once — or drag and drop links into the window, or import a list from a text file. VideoForge analyzes the page and shows a preview: title, thumbnail, duration, and the qualities that actually exist for that link.
- Choose quality and format. Presets include Best available, Best up to a resolution you pick (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K, 8K when the source offers them), Smaller file, Broad playback compatibility (the preview names the actual codecs — H.264 + AAC in MP4), and Audio only (original audio, or M4A/AAC, MP3, Opus, FLAC, or WAV). VideoForge never upscales a lower-resolution source or labels it as something it isn't.
- Download. A persistent queue with pause and resume, per-download progress, speed and concurrency limits, and automatic retry. If the app or the computer closes unexpectedly, the queue is recovered on the next launch; a download counts as complete only after it has been merged and verified.
What it does
- Playlists and channels. A playlist link opens a selection screen first — pick individual items or a range, keep playlist order with numbered filenames, and see a reason for any item that's unavailable. One failing item doesn't stop the rest.
- Built-in browser with Find Videos. When pasting a link finds nothing, browse to the page in the built-in browser and click Find Videos — VideoForge scans that page for video elements, embedded players, and media the page loaded, and groups stream variants together. Playing in a browser doesn't guarantee a file can be downloaded, and VideoForge says so when it can't.
- Subscriptions. Follow a supported channel or playlist and VideoForge checks for new items and downloads them with your saved preset — you set how many per check. Checks run while the app is open.
- Subtitles and audio tracks. Pick subtitle languages and save them as separate files or embedded when the container supports it; choose among multiple audio tracks where the source offers them.
- A supported-sites view, generated from the installed engine. The app ships with an extraction engine covering 1,754 extractors. Its searchable Supported Sites view distinguishes a site whose extractor merely exists from one that has actually been tested — and whether a particular link can be downloaded is something the app checks per link, in the preview.
- Runs entirely on your computer. Extraction and downloading happen locally with the bundled engine (yt-dlp) and FFmpeg. No paid extraction service, no cloud server, no telemetry of your links or downloads.
⚠️ Scope notes — read before you buy
- Windows only today, and a portable build. The download is a Windows portable .exe — there is no installer yet, and no macOS version yet. We'd rather say that plainly than promise either.
- The app is unsigned. Windows SmartScreen will warn on first launch ("Windows protected your PC"). Choose "More info → Run anyway" — only for the file you downloaded from this page after buying.
- Not every video on every site. Site support varies and changes as sites change. Some content needs you to be signed in — VideoForge lets you sign in inside its browser or supply your own browser cookies, and explains the scope before anything is imported. DRM-protected and paywalled content cannot be downloaded, and VideoForge will not bypass those protections; it explains the limitation instead.
- Subscriptions and schedules need the app open. Checks for new items run only while VideoForge is running (launch-at-login is an option in Settings).
- First human click-through is still pending. The download engine, queue, recovery, and security behavior are covered by automated and fixture-based verification (see the app's verification record); a hands-on install-and-download pass on a real Windows machine is still owed, and we say so until it's done.
If any of the above is a deal-breaker for you, VideoForge isn't for you yet — and we'd rather tell you now than after checkout.
Download
Windows 10/11 (64-bit), portable build — no installer, just download and run. The file is about 210 MB because the extraction engine and FFmpeg are bundled; you don't need to install anything else.
